PM Narendra Modi Biopic To Release On April 11, Now More Closer To Lok Sabha Elections!
Vivek Oberoi is heaving a sigh of relief. PM Narendra Modi biopic which was thwarted on April 5 will now release on April 11. The fresh release date has been announced, just few minutes back.
Just In, PM Narendra Modi biopic got a fresh release date. The makers of the film were expecting to receive the Censor certificate on April 3- but were denied the same. The Censor Board had asked for 4 cuts and the makers, director Omung Kumar and producer Sandip Ssingh had made the changes suggested. However, the duo didn't receive an official letter, and since verbal orders by Censor Board are invalid, the film got postponed. Omung and Sandip made umpteen calls to Tusshar Karmarkar (Regional Officer, CBFC), but, he refused to take their calls. Even their several text messages did not get a response.
However, now we hear that PM Narendra Modi will hit theatres on Thursday, April 11. However, it is still not clear what caused the delay. No official statement has come, neither from the Censor Board nor from the makers.
Was it the Congress delegation led by Kapil Sibal- that said that the release closer to the polls violated the model code of conduct- that threw a spanner? We shall never know, I guess. Omung and Sandip have been quite evasive so far on the controversies that have shrouded this film. When the Javed Akhtar controversy regarding giving him credits when he has not written any song for this film broke out, both of them had switched off their phones. If you note in their interview below, which was conducted just 3-4 days before the scheduled release, both were not very clear about the release date. It was therefore very apparent that the Censor certificate had not been issued then. It was all a case of optimism. They were not very forthcoming about the Javed controversy either.
